sloganc69
Found at a beach in Florida today. I'm pretty good with teeth. Have never found one this thick and fat. Even the side is flat with enamel. Any clue? Thanks!
Scylla
Hard to see from the pics, could be a fragment of a more conical tooth like crocodile or gator maybe?
Darktooth
I believe that it is a sharktooth fragment but it is so worn that it is nearly impossible to ID for sure as to species. 2 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.
sloganc69
Thanks for the help. It's for sure different than any other tooth I have found.
Bronzviking
I think it's too thick to be shark tooth and agree it's probably a tumbled fragment of a crocodile tooth.
PaleoNoel
It looks like a worn corner of a larger shark tooth to me.

sloganc69
I've found so many different species of shark teeth. Never seen one that's flat on the side with enamel. I'm stumped...
Macrophyseter
It's likely a rare Fraglodon indetus. 1 If you're a fossil nut from Palos Verdes, San Pedro, Redondo Beach, or Torrance, feel free to shoot me a PM!
sixgill pete
I dont think it is a tooth. At least not shark. However. We need good clear in focus pictures. The Jersey Devil
It is 100% a worn down shark tooth. In the first pic you can see a carina facing you; the lingual side is toward the top and the labial toward the bottom. The root is at left. “You must take your opponent into a deep dark forest where 2+2=5, and the path leading out is only wide enough for one.” ― Mikhail Tal

More photos could give a better ID.
sixgill pete
The more I look at this the more I am convinced it is not a shark tooth. Not even a worn out fragment. We can discuss the all day, but until the OP provides us with clear, close up in focus pictures from all angles we are just guessing. 3 Bulldozers and dirt Bulldozers and dirt behind the trailer, my desert Them red clay piles are heaven on earth I get my rocks off, bulldozers and dirt Patterson Hood; Drive-By Truckers May 2016 May 2012 Aug 2013, May 2016, Apr 2020 Oct 2022
