Hey everyone,

Wondering if this looks to be a Majungasauris tooth.

Seller says it came from th Maevarano formation in Madagascar.

Measures at 1 1/8 inch long

Pictures are blurry but I don't think it is a Majungasaurus.  The tooth is too curved to have come from an abelisaurid.  I don't think it could be Masiakasaurus either because they have some strange and oddly shaped teeth.

Might need some less blurry photos and picture of the distal side and cross-section.

Do you happen to know where it comes in Madagascar?  There are several cretaceous outcrops and it may help to know it is certainly from Maeverno Formation.

Agree its definitely not Majungasaurus since its morphology is not that of a Abelsaurid.  Very few theropods have been described from that formation so its best described as Theropod indet.  Of course like Runner64 mentioned it would be good to know a more specific locality than country to try to assess if the formation is accurate.  Could be a Masiakasaurus since we know nothing about its posterior or maxillary teeth but no way to assess that.
