Sasquatch1112
Does anyone know where I should hunt for fossils in the Cahaba River? We are going to Alabama on Vacation and are thinking about stoping, but we don’t know where. If you could tell me that will make our family’s day. Sasquatch1112
Or are there any other public sites near there where we can find plant fossils?
Mark Kmiecik
I can't really help with actual sites as I've never been to Alabama, but if no one chimes in with specific information or locales, then you could try this. Look at the river on Google Earth around the area you plan to visit and try to spot any exposed rock on the riverbanks and then try to investigate those areas on foot or float down the river if that's an option. Good luck in your endeavor. Post what you found. Even if it's nothing it will help anyone else who will hunt the area. Mark. Fossil hunting is easy -- they don't run away when you shoot at them!
