Congrats, Blake! You bring incredible value to TFF. Long overdue, and more than deserved! I know I've personally gained so much from your informative posts. Alas, heavy is the head who wears the MOTM crown, but you'll just continue being the fantastic member you have been since the beginning :)

WOW!
This is a complete surprise! Thank you to EVERYONE for the kind words and recognition!

I have always had an interest in what's in, on, and around the ground. When I was 12 I mortified my parents by bringing a squirrel skeleton I had found in the backyard inside and reassembling it on the kitchen table. from 12-15 I would pick up anything laying around and probably dug up half an acre of the yard! I graduated high school at 15 and graduated culinary school at 17, it was more to make my parents happy and pay the bills than anything but I continued to go on hikes and see what I could find.

At 24 (about 2 weeks before my 25th) I decided I was tired of being in kitchens and I loved being outdoors so I went back to school and completed an Anthropology degree. This was about the time that I discovered TFF. I was ecstatic to learn that there are other people out there like me that enjoy old dead things and decided to make it a career choice!

A lot of my fossil knowledge I now have came from TFF and the people here. Everyone has always been so kind and accepting, and even when I ask stupid questions like

While this award may have my name on it, it is the congregation of people here that make this site what it is and it is the reason I put so much effort in to (trying) helping and teaching. Without TFF I may not have even ended up in a fossil related field at all! TFF has pushed me to look for answers and continue to ask questions. So thank you to everyone here that has helped me grow along the way as well!

Looking forward to meeting my fellow Singaporean collectors! Do PM me if you are a Singaporean, or an overseas fossil-collector coming here for a holiday!

Congratulations Blake. We are so glad that your interests in dead squirrels are now directed towards anthropology and paleontology and not in the kitchen and culinary world.

You and the Fossil Forum help to satisfy one of the human's most basic needs: ...................our curiosity. Stay curious and continue spreading your enthusiasm.

Congratulations, Blake. Will you have a celebratory dinner? How would you like your Knightia, broiled or fried?

Start the day with a smile and get it over with.
