Thecosmilia Trichitoma
I don’t know much about the formation you’re hunting, but 4 could be the top of a worn echinoid spine. ThePhysicist
1. Sweet tooth, think it's posterior Cretodus sp. based on the striations and no nutrient groove. From the "front view" does the middle of the root stick out in the direction of the screen a little? 2. Looks to me like a cusplet. 3. I vote gastropod. 4. Bone? I can't go any further. 5. hm. It certainly looks like something, but I don't know. 6. looks like the side of a fish vert maybe, or just bone. 1 “The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is comprehensible.” - A. Very cool tooth, love the position and genus. 1 “The most incomprehensible thing about the world is that it is comprehensible.” - A. grandpa
Hi JL, Great finds as usual. I just have to add a brief aside: A few days ago Jamie opined that it never snows in Central Texas and that in all of her years here she'd only seen snow a couple of times. Well that moved the heavens and today we got over an inch of snow here in Austin, beautiful big flakes that stuck to the ground and are still hanging around covering everything. No school tomorrow, city wide. Thanks JL for the beautiful Sunday snow. I give you full credit for this.
