LabRatKing
Here is a few highlights from a brief stop at the old BLM trilobite quarry at the Wheeler Amphitheater. I was passing through the area for work and had to try my hand at the "defunct" site. 1

Yeah, It is far more work than the pay-to-play quarry, but I actually got better specimens there than I ever got at U-Dig!

FossilDAWG
Nice “bugs”! I didn’t know the BLM quarry was defunct, but then again I didn’t know much about that site at all. I have done OK at the U-dig quarry. Don
Ludwigia
For a defunct quarry the finds are pretty flipping good 1 Greetings from the Lake of Constance. Roger http://www.steinkern.de/

Don The BLM quarry has been long abandoned, (the days of the annual heavy machinery visit to dig out shale to split) but also has the best spots to camp out in the Amphitheater. High ground, no risk of getting flooded out and incredible views!
