GetYourRocksOff
Found this in a ravine while searching for anything on a hike. DPS Ammonite
Welcome to the Forum. Is that peninsula named Palos Verdes? My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned. Rockwood
A simple test would be to tap it lightly with something metal. A mineralized fossil will make a higher pitched sound. Modern bone will have a slightly lower pitched tone. This would only be one aspect to consider. Not a definitive answer, however.
