Goodland echinoids and gastropods-Ft Worth TX

I went back to cover more ground on my massive goodland exposure and found a bunch of additional hemiaster and heteraster echinoids. These are much smaller than macrasters, but I found two relatively large ones. I like the texture due to the bumps where spines once were. Tylostoma and other gastropods can be found there too. I’ll work on blasting the sand off. Tarrant county, TX in Fort Worth.

Nice haul! I wish I could get out and hunt. Here we have freezing temps and snow. The weather is supposed to warm up this week and if it does I am hoping to get some Silurian hunting in on Saturday.

We only had snow for a few minutes overnight one day last week (typical for a “harsh” Texas winter), but we have had freezing temps for a few days surprisingly..so I had to remind myself what it means to be alive and I waded into a creek up to my ankles. Within seconds, my toes weren’t just numb, but they were actually in pain. So these were some hard-earned fossils. Luckily, I didn’t go full Donner Party on the local passerby or have to chop off any limbs. 🤣🥶

That is impressive! More echinoids in one day than I have in my entire collection!
