Jeepers creepers!...some really spectacular teeth on display. Great thread, Marcel.

I'm adding some "color" from Chile .. makos and great whites.

In 2003/2004 I had the opportunity to go through a collection of Chilean makos and great whites acquired by a shark tooth dealer that totaled about 17,000 teeth. They were coming out of Chile in extremely large quantities. I was in a hurry and did not have enough time to go through all of them, so in the amount of time I had I was able to go through about 4000-5000 of them and pick out some of the more colorful ones ..

Wow, some really nice teeth posted over the last 24 hours. Actually, all are nice teeth! Many deserve their own threads!

I think if there is one species that represents the title of this thread, though, it's I. hastalis. They are very common, and given overall quality, colors, pathologies, etc., I think they win hands down.

For the one or two years I was lucky enough to get Lee Creek specimens on a regular basis, I saw quite a few, but never got bored with them or took them for granted. I always planned on selling every one I got, but probably ended up

keeping 1/2 of them. (Don't tell my wife.) Other locations (Chile, Peru, Meherrin River, etc., etc.) produce beautiful hastalis as well. Anyway, just my opinion, and I enjoy everything that is posted in this thread. I like looking at all teeth from peoples' collections. Keep 'em coming.

Here are some makos from Meherrin River (aka "red site"). The outer ones are deformed, and the center one is about as good as any Lee Creek tooth as far as quality, and it's a little over 2.5" if I remember correctly.

Hey Eddie,

You hoarder, does your wife have an account here, cause I think it's time someone told her the truth :-).

Fantastic Isurus examples. You guys have no idea how inspiring it is to me as well as young collectors seeing these teeth for the first time, many of whom are inspired by what you've collected and accumulated over time, let's keep it going :-).

Loving those weird Meherrin's!

Absolutely awesome pair of teeth.

Read the other post, super Bakersfield teeth, very rare in that condition and size. If I get time will photograph a couple of mine. I find it interesting to see all of the different jaw position, must have been some killer jaw. Hey in the end no matter what the locality is you cannot have too many Parotodus.
