Poc Trip - 11Feb 2012 With Tff Members

Texas Fossil Hound

Recommended Posts

Went down to clean out a section of Post Oak Creek Saturday with CreekCrawler, BobWill, and Feeshy1. Not a lot sitting on the surface despite the recent flood stage. However, we were not copletely skunked. A few items were found that were worth hanging on to.

The broken bits I found aren't worth posting but it was great to hunt with you guys despite the 15 degree windchill and thigh-deep water. Glad you got some teeth worth showing!

Awesome hunting with you Gents...

I came home with one great P.whipplei ,one button, and one small shark vert..

Man it was frigid out there and I now consider us all dedicated fossiliers.

Bob, we came across a small wooden sifter. I'm sure it was yours and I will save it for ya..

You boys did good considering how cold it was. To the crazy goes the spoils! :D

We were in chest deep water at one point - trying to get to the more remote gravel bars. Still there really was not a lot happening out there for the effort. Still... at least we were out doing something we enjoy with others who are equally demented, passionate!

Well I was planning to head out there tomorrow but it sounds like you guys probably hit it hard. Where abouts on the creek did you hunt? I want to try and avoid covering areas that have already been well combed.

We went east from the railroad.

Yeah, Barry that screen was mine. I remembered it way too close to the car to go back. If you come across someone who would like to have it, that's fine. I have several simple ones like that so I consider them almost disposible.

You guys did well. Dang, it was cold that day though.

The bottle... I see one like that on ebay for $27 ;-)

Tony,

That's almost enough for a new Rock Hammer! I think I will hang on to it, but the others I have are up for grabs. I found an old Dr. Pepper bottle and a couple other interesting glass items.
