Is that a bearpaw lobster on the top shelf?

JP,

Not sure about the smaller item, but I think that the larger is the fish nodule from Brazil that Charlie re-prepped to make more spectacular. :)

Rhacolepis buccalis, if I remember correctly.

Nice new cabinet, Charlie. :)

How does it feel to have so many people aspiring to be as "nerdy" as you? I only wish I had more room, I would have wall to wall cabinets.

Thanks, guys.

JP, Tim is correct. That my R.bucc i prepped and my first PNW crab i prepped on the top shelf.

I can get away with all of this because I'm still single. Haha! But this also may be why....double edged sword. Lol

This was a thrift store pick-up, but yes IKEA makes some nice display cabinets and great LED lighting for displays. Light strips is next on my list.

If it's Permian, those tracks are probably too old to be from lizards - could be from an extinct group of reptiles or even a synapsid. The New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science has a series of volumes with some of them on tracks and or Permian sites.

Jess

I finally mounted my Permian lizard ichnofossil in a shadow box I bought, and slapped er' on the wall. I love this piece(s). It's from New Mexico. I'm still researching for a possible ID for it.

thanks, Jess. I said lizard out of a bad habit of generalizing.

It's hard to read tracks with an untrained eye. The smallest of marks can "make" or "break" an ID.

Mexx, I'll have to get that pic tomorrow.

Man Charlie: ) don't know how I missed this all along! Quite an impressive collection for sure! Love the way you display your stuff, that mammoth tooth stand is sweet: )

Every once in a great while it's not just a big rock down there!

Wow!!! I see now that you've got the same problem I have. Sooooooooo many fossils. A nice problem for sure but you most certainly are more organized than I. Nice stuff!
