What Is This?

We recently found this chunk of fossilized "something" in an Indiana field. We checked out Wikipedia, and it sure looks like fossilized dinosaur skin. Any thoughts from you experts out there?

Or perhaps a part of one. I would expect a concretion to be more oval or sphere-like in shape

Sorry to disappoint, but it is not dinosaur skin, or a fossil at all. :(

Looks like a silicified ironstone nodule/concretion,... similar to the ones in this picture.

It's a cool rock I would have picked up!

Keep looking..
