Shellseeker
A couple of recent trips. The Peace is lower although I spent a lot of time digging at chest level. I was digging with friends finding a lot of small teeth in smaller gravel with an occasional Mammoth fragment or deer tooth and then this trip maker. . I have found a few small ones in the past but this one rates right up there as 2nd best. http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/37772-baby-meg-from-zolfo/ A week earlier, I found a favorite. These always take me a while to ID... With all the rains, a very curious season, but I am enjoying The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"

Shellseeker
Apologies FossilDude! These are relatively rare and I should have told you what I know and do not know. The shark tooth is a Megalodon. The larger Megs look more impressive but in my hunting grounds, this one is far more difficult to find - maybe once every year or 2 for me. The other tooth is a Horse upper molar, commonly and sometimes incorrectly called a three toed horse. This tooth came from an ancestor of modern horses, usually about the size of a large dog that lived 2-5 million years ago in Florida. While I know it is from a small horse, there are numerous types and variations and I will try to determine exactly which of those variations produced this tooth. Here are a couple of forum threads with details: http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/60424-three-toed-horse-tooth-id/ and http://www.thefossilforum.com/index.php?/topic/49618-quiz-for-the-horsey-set-florida-3-toed-variety/ 2 The White Queen ".... in her youth she could believe "six impossible things before breakfast"

MrDinoNATI
Like a saying that I made up goes, 'Size and Price aren't relevant, as long as you're happy'. Nice teeth, though. Good condition. Shellseeker
equid teeth looks hipparionine to me.Is that a possibility? Thanks for the comment, This indeed is a hipparionine!!! but now I have to search McFadden's books and papers or send it to Richard Hulbert to find out exactly which one ,, You can see the TFF bias ==a fantastic small horse upper molar or a small MEG and the Meg gets all the attention.. yours is the 1st comment after a month on the horse !!! and a welcome comment it is...
