Yoda's mystical objects collection

Postman had something for me yesterday.
I am really pleased with the plant nodule. Crock Hay material is our closest to Mazon Creek material. Such a shame the site has been closed down.

Nice double-layer piece of Cotham. Looks like they gave it a nice polish too.

The front is nicely polished.

The back is not. Interesting to see how it looks in the natural form.

Yes.. with things like this I like to have a fresh broken surface, a cut surface and a polished surface, or at least 2 out of the 3.  No point in polishing both sides, anyway.

I wonder if the postman knows there are rocks in the boxes he delivers to me ?? :default_rofl:

One of the Madagascan Triassic nodules.
Not the best preservation, but it wasn’t expensive

This was labelled as Bobastriana

But I am not sure

@oilshale , @Fossildude19

Your thoughts ?

Thanks.

There are 3 or 4 species of these deep bodied Madagascan fishes.

I find it difficult to tell them apart.

At the moment I post my new acquisitions

But I should start going back and show photos from before I started this thread.

Yes, I've seen similar.

In some regards it looks like the 'stromatolites' you see for sale in both Marrakech and Agadir, but are really a geological formation like desert roses.

However, these are different and resemble infilled agate geodes in some respects.

Not sure, but they're very interesting. :)

One hopes that you have acquired some brachiopods by now......................

Maybe not for Yoda.  As he stated, he isn't really into them.  Lots of people specialize in what they are interested in.
For example, I have very little interest in dinosaur or mammal material.

I have next to nothing in these categories, but do not feel my collection is diminished in any way.

To each his own.
