snolly50
Once again, snolly's various and sundry misdeeds and transgressions have either been ignored or forgiven! There can be no other explanation of the fact that he has received a wonderful gift. It is enough to cause the astute thinker to ponder - does the act of a "gift" have less to do with the recipient, than it does the Giver. In this example the Giver, who is know to snolly by his proper name, but not his Forum sobriquet; has displayed exceeding generosity. The effort of this selfless Giver goes beyond the physical items sent, but includes the benefit of information/instruction as well. The material is well labeled and also included were pages of informative material providing illumination of the specimen's geological origins. As an added bonus, the Giver has included self-collected material, providing an even nicer personal gesture. It is truly wonderful to learn a little of another's efforts in this field of interest and to actually now own material from an area unknown to snolly. Check out this largesse. A warm "thank you" to the benefactor. Minerals were included! Yes, it emits light after UV exposure! Fossils! Check them out! They are all the better for their novelty to snolly The documentation raises the possibility of a publication connected to the discovery pictured above. How about that! Many thanks and wishing a joyous season to all. 9 Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, also are remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. - Douglas Adams, Last Chance to See

KompsFossilsNMinerals
I received my package today and being the impatient person I am, I decided to open it! Santa was very generous, and I cannot thank them enough for these pieces! First off, the letter! I really appreciate the letter, and I think the signature might hold a clue as to who my Santa is… This was one of the first pieces I pulled out of the package. If you read the letter from my Santa, you almost certainly saw the additional info about this Goat-Horn ammonite. In case you didn’t, here is what was written. “…this piece was from Forum luminary Doren Strane and retains his hand-written labeling.” This is probably one of the most impactful gifts I have received in quite some time. I never had a chance to meet Doren, but I have however seen how big of an influence he had on the forum. I will be sure to keep this in a very secure and special spot in my collection. This is a second edition copy of Riccardo Levi-Setti’s “Trilobites”, a book which I do not have on my shelves yet! I will definitely enjoy reading this over the coming days, and I appreciate my Santa for doing some spy work for this gift. These are some cool Isorthoceras sociale from the Maquoketa formation, the only other fossil in my collection from this formation is an enrolled Calymene Fayettensis. Definitely a nice surprise, I’ll have to keep them together! Some very nice Moroccan Echinoids Miocene aged pet wood from New Castle Co., Delaware Blue Forest pet wood, I had previously never heard of the Blue Forest so this was very cool to receive! Here is a jar of Lee Creek teeth, love it! There are some super interesting teeth in this jar. This is a bag full of Cookie Cutter Creek matrix! Luckily none of it escaped the bag during transit. I will have lots of fun picking through the matrix for some Cookie Cutter teeth! My Santa also generously included 3 storage jars to contain my finds. Last, but certainly not least(!!!), is this stunning 5 7/16” Megalodon tooth! This is my first complete 5+ inch Megalodon tooth, and it is absolutely beautiful! I may have to get back into shark tooth collecting now! I cannot thank you enough for all these great gifts, Santa. You were very generous I have an idea of who my Santa may be, but I’d like to see if other people guess the same as I did! One important hint which I only saw on the shipping label is that my Santa is from South Carolina.

If you invite Adam for dinner, be careful, he finds your brachiopods delicious, i fear je rats too much of them and'll end up with an indigestion.
