TOM BUCKLEY
I Secret Santa'd myself. I've been looking for a Carcharodontosaurus tooth for awhile now. I was balancing size, quality, and price in my decision. I finally found this one which was a very good price, very nice quality, excellent serrations, and a little over 3". thelivingdead531
It happened! I received my Christmas auction lot today!! I was very lucky to win lot P (and just barely did so) from @Haravex. I cannot begin to tell you all how beautiful these fossils are in person. I'm such a lucky lady today (I also opened my secret Santa package and got some amazing goodies)! It's shaping up to be a good Christmas. First is the wonderful ammonite wax seal on the envelope. Next is the whole lot. And now some close ups. Here are two Spinosaurus indet., a Suchomimus tenerensis, and Abelisauridae indet., teeth.
thelivingdead531
Next are lemon and bull shark teeth from Bone Valley, two fish scales, and a piece of dinosaur eggshell from France. Here are shark teeth from West Sahara Now we have two clams, goniatite, and crinoid piece. Oh, and 3 Sarcosuchus impertator teeth.
thelivingdead531
I swear I'm almost done These two ammonites are beauties! Both from Kem Kem beds. Last, but not least, this gorgeous black barite! I can't get photos to do justice on the colors. Ok, that's all folks. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoy the specimens themselves. That Suchomimus tooth though!

Seller doesn't know if vert if Nothosaur or another marine reptile. The matrix also has a few other bones pieces and micro fossils in it. The tooth is definitely a nothosaur tooth, but the vertebra would indeed be hard to identify, especially since there are different species of nothosaur and these vary greatly in size. One of the smallest and most primitive ones, and one I've seen a lot of vertebrae on this matrix identified as, is Anarosaurus sp.. I suspect that's what you're dealing with here as well, seen as in terms of overall morphology the vertebra does seem to match nothosaurids. 1 'There's nothing like millions of years of really frustrating trial and error to give a species moral fibre and, in some cases, backbone' -- Terry Pratchett

ziggycardon
Here are some of my latest mailbox scores from the past 2 months. A pristine juvenile Stegodon cf. trigonocephalus molar found in Central-Java, Indonesia (Plio/Pleistocene border) A Hadrosaur ungual claw found in the Judith River Formation, Hill County, Montana, USA (Cretaceous, 80 - 75 mya) A very rare Mosasaurus hoffmani vertebrae found in the Nekami quarry, 'T Rooth, Bemelen, Eijsden-Margraten, Limburg, The Netherlands (Cretaceous, 68 mya), this vert comes from the Maastrichtian type locality chalk deposits near the city of Maastricht, this was my number 1 fossil on my fossil bucketlist An Osteolepis macrolepidotus found in the Old Red Sandstone, Orcadian Basin, Cruaday Hill Quarry, Orkney, Scotland (Devonian, 385 mya) A replica Captorhinus aguti skull originally found in Richards Spur, Oklahoma, USA (Permian, 295 mya) A petrified snake egg (Ophidienovum) found in Bouxwiller, Bas-Rhin, France (Eocene, 48 - 41 mya) A Squalicorax pristodontus tooth found in the Bakrit Oil Shale, Morocco (Cretaceous, 70 mya) A Laccognathus panderi tooth found Lode Clay Quarry, Lode Formation, Gauja Regional Stage, Gauja River, Latvia (Devonian, 377 - 373,5 mya) A petrified weevil coccoon (Leptopius duponti) found in Elliston, Australia (Holocene) A Desmostylus hespernus molar found in the Tembler Formation, Fresno County, California, USA (Miocene, 15,5 mya) A petrified tendon (probably Edmontosaurus annectens) found in the Hell Creek Formation, Carter County, Montana, USA (Cretaceous, 66 mya) A manatee molar found in Northern Florida, USA (Pleistocene) An Ankylosauria tooth (probably Denversaurus schlessmani) found in the Hell Creek Formation, Carter County, Montana, USA (Cretaceous, 66 mya) A very rare Theropoda indet. tooth found in Cherves de Cognac, France (Cretaceous, 140 mya), another one of my bucketlist fossils as I've always wanted a European dinosaur tooth. Unfortunatly barely any material is described from this location, so ID'ing the tooth is pretty much impossible as of now. A Helodus sp. tooth found in The Ryan Formation, Waurika, Oklahoma, USA (Permian, 295 - 272 mya) A Lissodus minimus tooth found in Luxembourg, Belgium (Triassic, 208 -201 mya) Some Maple Mill micro material, pictured here are only the Phoebodus teeth, an early shark with similarities of frilled sharks (Devonian/Carboniferous border) A pair of "kissing" trilobites, unidentified as of yet, but I suspect they could be Colpocoryphe sp., found in Fezouata Formation, Mecissi-Zagora Region, Draa Valley, Morocco (Ordovician, 479 - 472 mya) A pos/neg of Cambropallas telesto with only some resto done on the left genal spine, found in the Jbel Wawrmast Formation, Morocco (Cambrian, 520 - 505 mya) 10 Interested in all things paleontology, geology, zoology, evolution, natural history and science! With extreme luck, I check the websites of my usual fossilshops daily to see if there is any new interesting material and while checking one afternoon I saw that one was added. So I immediatly jumped on it as it was the first time since I started collecting I saw one offered for sale, had I waited 30 minutes longer, someone else would probably have grabbed it. I am glad I did, now that most the Quarries in Limburg have closed down, the chances of finding one of my own where very slim. 1 Interested in all things paleontology, geology, zoology, evolution, natural history and science!
