The prep is not super stellar by any stretch with a few small parts with restoration, but the price was right. I've wanted one of these for some time, and it just so happens it is the same species featured in our TFF logo. Much bigger than I thought, too, measuring over 8 cm (a bit over 3 inches). Dicranurus monstrosus: Very nice bug. Prepping all those spines can't be easy. I don't have the patience. Tom I have to give a lot of credit to those who prep these spiny beasts as they generally appear in some of the toughest limestone imaginable. It is not uncommon that the process involves breaking off the spines to prep those separately, and then glue them back on to the prepped "core" of the bug. 2 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer

Misha
A couple of days ago I received this awesome package in the mail from @connorp There are a bunch of wonderful brachiopods from many interesting formations and my first holocephalian tooth plate! I have seen these tooth plates so much and finally having one in my hands is really cool. The tooth plate is Psammodus sp. from the Moscow region in Russia The brachiopods are from many different formations ranging from the Ordovician to Pennsylvanian, I have IDs for some of them but not all so I will probably be creating a topic for that soon. Once again, thank you connor!
Kane
Thanks all. My bucket list gets smaller by the day, keeping pace with the bank account. @Misha - As far as I can tell, there doesn't appear to be much restoration, but it is pretty standard that about 1-5% could be. But those Russian preparators do it so artfully that it can be hard to tell without black light. If I were to guess, there might be some on the spines (but not certain; could be all original!). This was from a reseller, so an exception for me as I almost always get my Russian bugs direct from a few very trusted connections who find and prepare them. 1 ...How to Philosophize with a Hammer

FF7_Yuffie
My last two Christmas treats---I was gonna wait until the New Year, but since they're from France, I figured it best to get them ordered now before Brexit potentially messes up customs and the borders. A Grallator track from France (thanks to everyone who helped confirming it as authentic) And a Alcione pterosaur humerus from Morocco--Ouled Abdoun Basin.
LordTrilobite
I recently got two rather nice fossils from the Two Medicine formation, Montana. Age is Campanian. First is a partial hadrosaur braincase. It seems to be lambeosaurine (hollow crested hadrosaurs), but the only lambeosaurine hadrosaur from Two Medicine formation is Hypacrosaurus. And it doesn't quite seem to match that. And the second is a hadrosaur left dentary. Also from a lambeosaurine. So this is most likely Hypacrosaurus sp. 12 Olof Moleman AKA Lord Trilobite
