I'll try and dig up that pic for ya.Edit: oh yeah, that turtle thing, no joke there. My ex girlfriend almost died because of her pet box turtle. SoreBack
This is a Northern Black Widow (Latrodectus variolus). We have found this species four times over the last 18 years on our Ocean County, NJ property. This one was on our grill cover and I relocated her and her eggs to the woods behind our home. DE&i
Thank you for showing me your spiders. They scared a few persons in our household. This is a False Widow spider we found in our garage. SoreBack
Here is one of my favorite spiders that we've had on our property, a Marbled Orb Weaver (Araneus marmoreus). The Orb Weavers are big and docile but they look mean.
snolly50
I had a computer hard drive failure back in October. As a result, I dusted off my back-up, external hard drive. The only pleasant result of this drive demise was the opportunity to sift through photos I had archived. I spotted this shot of an elegant, bristly critter. Does anyone know what it is and what it becomes? I have those red-bellied woodpeckers at my feeder too, I just don't understand its name. Start the day with a smile and get it over with.

snolly50
Wonderful photos. The pattern on the 1st spider is remarkable. I don't recall seeing one like that. Plantguy
Am liking the insects and arachnids. Birds are cool too... I've found a new quicker transfer method from camera phone to upload but the picture quality goes down but here's a red shouldered hawk that allowed me to get within 4 feet and then moved a bit further away to sit on a traffic cone..and a caterpillar that didnt care that I was close either! Not sure which caterpillar this is...was a marshy/sandy area near Sarasota Florida..

fossilized6s
A gaggle of Turkeys decided to dingdong-ditch me. Crazy turkeys!
