Sara: The World Traveling Ceratopsian

Hah! This is the closest we've been to Sara since her journey started. We are in the Chicago area as well visiting family for the first time since the pandemic began. We might make it into the city as well to see some of the museums that I frequented every Sunday as a kid. Looking forward to seeing what Sara gets up to during her stay. :)

Cheers.

Last week, Sara visited the Dinosaur Discovery Museum in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Below are some pictures from her trip. Sorry that some of the images are blurry. My camera was having a bad day.

Probably. As I understand it, any mounted dinosaur skull is a replica by definition, due to the weight of the actual mineralised specimen. Even so, such high end replicas are rare in their own right...

Yes. They were casts. There were some real bones in the displays in the last few pictures.

You are all mistaken as to the action in the photo above. Sara is simply getting ready to toss a tasty, 3 foot garfish to her gape mouthed friend! A little treat for a light lunch.

Sara has been doing some exploring lately. She took a field trip through some of my shelves and had fun walking among the fossils.

Sara climbs the water bug.

She sees strange fossils from a long ago time.

It has been great having Sara over for a visit, but I fear my time with her has come to an end. I am contacting the next participant and I'll provide an update on where Sara is headed next once I receive confirmation that they can host her. It will be exciting to see where Sara's adventure takes her next. :D

Sara will be visiting @Dimitris next. He warns me that shipping from USA to Europe is slow right now so it might be a while before we hear about her next update. Regardless, it is exciting to hear she will be on her way again soon.

Well, Sara will spend quite some time in the customs, while her foster family will try to explain that this temporary adoption does not include some money!

Wish she would arrive earlier so that I could get her with me on my 3rd excursion in the island of Kythera.
