This is Tia.  She’s my 10 year old grumpy cat lol.  She was a rescue from an abusive breeder who was trying to “get rid” of her for being a runt.  She may not be the most cuddly cat, she may not be a lap cat...but she’s a mama suck and my youngest daughter’s best buddy.

I grew up in a multi cat family and have had cats around me most of my life. I am a believer that the litter runts seem to make the best of buddies.

Being the youngest of five kids in the family, maybe I was the runt of the litter.

I grew up in a multi cat family too lol. :)

That is so true about them being the best buddies.  She has come such a long way.  The breeder’s teenage sons used to pick on her.  She was so afraid of men that she would urinate of my hubby got near her.

She is one of the most loving, talkative little runts I’ve had :)

Here's my freeloading roommate and best buddy, Archie!

It is well that you keep that dark as night creature by the hearth. That is probably safe. However, be warned and learn from my bitter experience. If you allow that enchanted animal to frequent the garden by moonlight, you may find it mounts a pillar and is transformed into the dread CATGOYLE! Beware.

Quite the nice menagerie.

If you collect fossils their enclosures, boxes, are cheaper and they take less care, other than some grooming (dusting).

My goal is to leave no stone or fossil unturned.

I love tortoises and Russians are tremendous fun, such an active species.

I would use coco coir, cypress mulch or orchid bark as a substrate, though, sand can be an impaction risk.

Very pretty tortoise and very smooth, how old is it?

Yeah he sits on bark in fact, this photo was taken in the terrarium of the frilled lizards because he was simply in a temperary set-up.

She is a Greek tortoise from Morocco, Testudo graeca graeca.

But much darker than is normal for this species.

She is indeed awesome, quite the little personality, toilet trained and comes to me when she wants something.

Slowly, that is.

How does the toilet training work? Does she have a special area or does she come up to you to let her out? Will she let you know if she wants some treats like my cat?

We have a small occasional table that she uses as her toilet, it's easy to clean and disinfect afterwards. She will go to the toilet when she is placed on this table, first thing in the morning, at lunchtime and just before bed. If she wants to go at other times, she will stretch her neck out and stare up at me or the table and pull her head in and out.

Accidents only occur if we are out and she can't wait anymore or if she is terrified by a thunderstorm, as happened last night.

Regarding treats, no, she won't ask, but if you offer her one of her faves she can get rather excited and have your fingers if you're not very careful. :)

This is my darling little Sassafras. She is, quite simply....perfect!  (Yep, I’m a wee bit partial to her.) I also have four other sweet lap dogs and three pet hens. My husband keeps on telling me that our hens should become indoor pets since they are as tame as our dogs. (That will not happen!)

And as promised part 3 of my animal collection my invertebrates.

Although it is only a fraction of what I had.
i used to have 5 different species of beetle, 1 species of assassin bug, 3 -4 species of mantis, 5 - 6 species of stick insect, 1 water bug, an ant colony, multiple breeding colony's of different variants of african giant land snails, giant millipedes, 2 species of tarantula, 1 species of whip spiders, 1 species of jumping spider, 1 species of hermit crab, 1 species of giant cricket, and 3 species of roaches.
Gecko's as well as invertebrates where once the main focus of my hobby, but due to time constraints, wanting to take a few steps back with the hobby and after a nasty mite infestation that devestated my entire beetle cultivation, most of the breeding stick insect and the ant colony, the inverts where the easiest to stop with due to the short lifespan of most insects.

So this is all that I currently still have in my collection of invertebrates:

My Sungaya inexpectata's are currently the only insects in my collection

So that are currently all my invertebrates although I have plans now that I am merging my two terrarium rooms into one.
My oldest terrarium room will now become the new fossil room, only the big aquarium with my bichir (Polypterus retropinnis will stay there), bit to big to move and the fish is a living fossil so it is fitting.
But I am going to make a new cabinet for that aquarium and I might add a 5 compartiment terrarium in which I will house invertebrates that are all living fossils like my millipede and scorpion, but I also plan on housing a giant vinegaroon, whip spider and some madagascar hissing cockroaches and maybe a small tank with a triops breeding colony.

And it appears I forgot to feature my berberskinks at my reptile list so here is my male berberskink (Eumeces schneideri)

Thank you, I think I started with invertebrates in 2011, but since last year I decided to take a few steps down due to less time and other interest and also the fact that I work with these animals at a daily base at work.

Thanks! I think they are both cuties! :) Here is my Zuzu. And then my Raffiki and Poogan. And one of Sassafras and Zuzu begging for a treat. (I take way too many pictures of my dogs. Lol) :)
