This Brittle Star from Morocco is one of my favorites.

That's an interesting one. :)

And good detective work, otherwise I think this could have been a hard one to guess. sherlock.gif.4fc0c49d29cc5205228b36b8691eee33.gif

Anyone gonna have a go at guessing this one?

I received my Secret Santa, exciting! Very generous with material I didn't have, mostly from France. The highlight was a gorgeous amphibian footprint, my first footprint. There was an adorable ammonite plushie too! Thank you :D

Great footprint and the plushie is adorable. :b_love1:

Could you please post the rest of the photos from what was obviously a wonderful package from Santa Sophie? @fifbrindacier

Them's the rules..........:)

Quite a tricky one, I think.

I was leaning towards @Fossilis Willis at first. But as Adam said this is a tricky one.

What a fantastic package! :yay-smiley-1:

You must have been very good this year.

Thank you very much @Malcolmt

Another Good Santa!

Though one of those Ordovician corals looks much like a Devonian Microcyclus button coral to me, and some of the others look more Devonian, Hungry Hollow, Arkona, as well.

The next photo shows some ramose tabulate corals (the ones with apertures in the sides) and some lovely little Bactrites arkonensis naulitoids, I think.

Next, I reckon this is a positively excellent specimen on the gastropod Spiniplatyceras arkonense.

Nice.

Your observation Adam is correct!

There were two small bags and a description for them

8. Small bag, assorted, Verulam, Brechin Ontario Ordovician

9 Bag small microfossils, Devonian Hungry Hollow fm, Arkona Ontario.

I accidentally typed wrong description when I was editing the photos.

I am prepping right now the bug. As @Malcolmt said, it would be pretty soft matrix. Indeed it is the softest matrix I have ever had, while the trilo is much harder.

It is partially enrolled, I will send pictures of the progress a little later.

That's what I have exposed so far. I think the pigdium is on the right side of the matrix. I don't know yet if the bug is 360 degrees enrolled or less.

I followed @Darktooth steps to try to figure out who it is, I wrote down everyone sending packages to the USA from Adam's list although it was hard to read. Then I looked at what darktooth got and it was all from morocco washington and texas, morocco and texas seem to be pretty common fossil locations so I looked for someone who lives in Washington, after I found one I tried searching their trip reports to see their handwriting but couldn't find it. I found @OwlEyes lives in Washington and has taken trips to both Texas and Morocco so that is my guess, hand the points over @Tidgy's Dad

We’ve started putting the decorations up. Probably a bit early but I think it’s ok under the circumstances. The ichthyosaurs got his hat on:

That’s the right idea all the colour and whimsy will bring a few much needed smiles. Beautiful fossil my friend. This is in our shed or fake trophy wall .
