Darktooth
So........a few days ago I was talking with one of my Sons. I told him that I was beginning to worry that somehow I had gotten put on the naughty list! I still hadn't received my package from Santa, while many other members had received theirs. ☹️ Today I came home from work once again hoping beyond hope, that Santa had arrived. Once again it seemed as there was nothing for me. I looked in the mirror and decided it was time for a shave. After I got started shaving. My Son Dylan says through the bathroom door" Oh Dad, by the way, you may or may not have received a package today. And I may or may not have put it under the tree". I may or may not have squealed with delight at the news. But I did tell him to bring it here Pronto! Once I saw the name I instantly new who my Santa was. My heart started beating faster! But darn it, I had to finish shaving without cutting myself. While I finished I told myself "Don't you dare open it till Christmas!" When I got done shaving I took a shower got dressed and came out to find my wife, 2 Son's and son's girlfriend in the living room. Wife was holding the package. She asked are you waiting to open it? I said what do you guys think I should do? They all said open it! I have to say Thank-you very much Secret Santa! You were very generous and kind!(As Always!) Do you guys and gals, want to see what i got? Of course you do! Too bad, you all have to wait! 1 3 1 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

Darktooth
My favorite is the Flexicalymene. It is an awesome looking Trilo. First one that I have seen that is not a Frankenfossil. But all of the others are nice too and are really appreciated so Thank-you again Santa! You're the bestest ever! Anyone want to quess who my Santa is? I will give a couple hints. We have done atleast one trade before. Santa sent me a specimen once after I commented about a successful hunt he had. He sent me something from that hunt. Santa helped brighten up one of my family members, a couple years ago. That's all you get. Edited December 20, 2022 by Darktooth 2 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie. ClearLake
I received my SS package a few weeks ago but have held off opening it until today. What a wonderful treat! Thanks Secret Santa! I know who you are, but lets see if others can figure it out. I should have taken a picture as it came out of the box, as it was all very neatly wrapped and protected. I also appreciate the info that came with each item. A great hash plate. I already see two or maybe three different trilobite types with a couple of them tantalizingly partially buried and an interesting gastropod that I am not familiar with. I think a little prep work will make this even more spectacular. As an added plus, it represents my first fossils from the state of Wisconsin. Here are some Ordovician brachiopods. This is a great gastropod. When I collected in the Iowa Ordovician a few summers back, I did not find any of this genus, so that is excellent. I don't have many graptolites and this will be only my second fossil from the state of Minnesota. A nice flipped trilobite and the little brachiopods that you probably can't really see in these pictures are pretty neat. So, thank you very much Secret Santa!!! Who is it????? 5

ClearLake
That is a really good guess given the location of numerous of the fossils, but still not right. You're in the neighborhood (ok, its a big neighborhood).
Brett Breakin' Rocks
@Darktooth You know the really funny thing ? .. Even though we have traded fossils at least 2-3 times I still STILL did not recognize the address as your's. haha... cooky, cooky world. The Flexicalymene is from the mineral and fossil show here in Denver and I love these concreations. I only found a few sellers this year with the nice big ones like this. The fossil from Kazakhstan is from a guy I found on Instagram. He is a pastor and fossil enthusiast that collects these fossils out in the desert. The shark vert is the only ne I've ever found in the matrix from the creeks in South Carolina. The prep could be better, but I liked seeing it stuck in the matrix. Hope you enjoy. Nice to see you on the forum again. I've been so busy in Colorado. Baaaarely able to breathe again. Take Care, Brett PS. Did the print in the folder survive ? .. I hope it made it ok. Brett Breakin' Rocks
Speaking of not waiting ... I received an overseas parcel from my Dutch Santa - Sinterklaas !! The parcel was HUGE, and I can barely put into words how amazing the contents inside are to me. It's a European smorgasbord ... I mean .. before this parcel I didn't really own any ammonites ? .. That has changed in rather spectacular fashion. The Echinoid from Germany is just exquisite. Really just amazing. Thank you to my secret Santa. You made the holiday quite spectacular for those of us in the house that like dead things and the old rocks that they have become. Cheers, Brett 1

Thanks again for the wonderful gifts! Now I have a funny thing for you. I saw the folder at the bottom of the box after all of the contents were removed, but not yet opened. I thought to myself to check it, to see if there was anything in there. But before I got a chance to my family was pressuring me to unwrap the goodies and I forgot all about it till I just saw your post. Sooooo..........I just looked and the print survived, and I love it! It is going to find a home in my cabinet. And I got another funny story for you. The Hexanchus tooth you sent, well I am 100% sure was in my possession a some point in the past. So either you got it in a trade with me, or possibly from an auction I put up. Or someone else got it from me and then gave it to you. I know that tooth, container and label very well. I am actually glad to have it again. Also the shark vert in matrix is very cool. It goes well with the sharkteeth in matrix that i have. I wish you and your family the best during the Holidays. Your Friend Dave 2 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.
