Tell me dinoguy, is that 6.5" as measured or are you calculating what it would be if the tip were intact? Mind you it's impressive either way!

I'm just stating if it is that big as-is, then it was actually bigger than the 6.5". :o

Not nearly as impressive as some of these amazing previous fossils, but I was quite excited when this arrived today :P

It’s two wings of an unknown odonate (dragonfly/damselfly), several Conchostraca (clam shrimp), and another unidentified insect. From the early Cretaceous Jiufortang Formation of Chaoyang, China. I believe there are also remnants of the odonate’s abdomen and possibly a leg or two :D

Plate is about 10cm x 7cm

Wings are about 4.5cm in length

Unknown insect is about 0.75cm in length

The real kicker of it though is that I got this for $0.01 haha! :yay-smiley-1:

Hey there, that's the measurement as it is, from top left root down to the tip. So you're right, this monster tooth would have been even bigger with the full tip :)

I treated myself to this iguanodon vertebra for Christmas.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Looks like a great piece to me, and you can’t beat that price! All these vertebrate fossils being posted were getting out of hand anyway. ;)
