Yes, yes it was with the weather finally back to its sunny glory I have been having a lot of good days. Okay I've just done some quick reading and this is quite interesting. The large head shield is believed to help keep the trilobite above the soft floor of the prehistoric ocean and perhaps for filter feeding. However the pits in cephalic rim are still believed to have held sensory hairs, or otherwise aid the blind trilobite in navigating its surroundings. Amazing how much there is to learn in the world of fossils.
Huntonia
And it appears that in trinucleioids the pits in the cephalic fringe would serve as outflows for filter feeding.

MSirmon
I received a rock/fossil collection from Arizona and Oklahoma today. It was a blind purchase but I am exceedingly pleased with this $20 spend. To make it better they are all numbered and identified.
Welsh Wizard
My latest acquisition is a collection of letters from Sir Richard Owen (the person who coined the phrase dinosauria) and William Buckland (the person who wrote the account of the first named dinosaur - megalosaurus) Heres one of the William Buckland letters.

I was also offered one of his letters and one of Gideon Mantell's letters. This is absolutely incredible. I should have gone for it when I had the chance but instead got an iguanodon jaw section, baryonyx, neovenator so couldn't afford to spend money on this. Thanks for showing!
