First off, I recieved a package from our esteemed member Nimravis. He sent me some terrific artifact pieces. Secondly came a quite heavy slab ( 12 lbs! ) of nicely detailed reptile/ amphibian tracks from early Permian of northeastern New Mexico. The pieces from Ralph are very cool and those tracks are quite something. You had a jolly good day, old chap. Well deserved too. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend. Its an Oredont, Merycoidodon culbertsani, from the White River Formation of Pennington County, South Dakota This piece preserves the left maxilla and molars, with portions of the jugal and frontal bones present as well. Additionally, you can also see part of the orbit too. I appreciate this specimen even more when taking into consideration that I scored this piece for a cool $10. Result, old chap! Great score for that price. Life's Good! Tortoise Friend.

Nimravis
I received this book in the mail today, it is a nice 411 page hardback book that contains various reprints of papers. It is nicely done, but I wish that some of the pictures were not so dark, below is an example of a dark page and a lighter page.
caldigger
I agree the photograph tone is considerably off. Perhaps they were trying to get some shadow contrast so you could see the tracks better or just a bad lighting set up in the studio.

I guarantee that the original prints were perfect, but this book contains papers from 1911 forward, most from the 60's and 70's.

paulyb135
Not a fossil, however it is dinosaur related I got this limited edition 50p coin with the famous Megalosaurus on it. It is one of three coins to be released in England over the coming couple of months which outline 3 of the first uk dinosaurs found. The other two are Iguanodon and Hylaeosaurus A really cool coin and for my fellow UK friends I recommend buying one soon as I doubt they’ll hang around for much longer
