I was attacked by a territorial Muscovy Duck in the Lower Rio Grand Valley (S. Tx.) and he did indeed draw blood. Still, Golden Eagles can mess you up! The darn thing got a toe claw stuck through the leg seam in my jeans, while I was trying to get away, and I dragged him for about six steps (self-inflicting some deep scratches). Even though they are quite menacing looking, large, and could pack a punch if they want to, you can walk through dozens of them as they buzz over their territory and they aren't agitated at all.
