Darktooth
I am still waiting for my Secret Santa recipient to post a pic of the gift I sent. I know he received and opened it awhile ago. (A little bird told me.) I was told he really liked it, I truly hope so! 2 I like Trilo-butts and I cannot lie.

snolly50
On 12/25/2018 at 7:42 AM, snolly50 said: Happy Christmas to All! Yes, Secret Santa is real! snolly received a wondrous bounty of fossil treasures. Surely that naughty/nice thing was called off for this year! I will say that snolly's Santa displayed the true sense of Christmas - giving. What generous largess! Photos will be posted later this evening after some family travel. For now, thanks for this spectacular Forum activity and many, many thanks to my wonderful, generous, thoughtful (and blind eye to snolly's many faults) Santa!!!!!!! Well, of course snolly didn't make the stated schedule; but here is a brief reveal of the most bountiful and bestest Secret Santa offering in all of Forumdom. As suggested above this Santa must truly be tolerant of a "little" naughty behavior; because snolly was gifted with a stupendous assortment of very desirable fossils - a horde far exceeding any expectation. Here are a few images! An overview - check it out! The gracious donor filled a smaller PO box and somehow decided that was not enough and put the small box in a bigger box with a host more goodies. Notice the included display aides on the left side. Included were even a couple of those membrane holders - all very useful stuff! Here's a peek at the central section. Take note of the large lovely Ordovician gastropod plate. It is a very appealing color of pale bluish-green. It's the kind of piece an interior decorator would snatch up as an room accent. Below, look at the scads of Mazon Creek wonders - a great variety. Now check out the labels with each piece. EVERYTHING is precisely labeled - a collectors dream! Here's a close-up of the right side. Check out the Ordovician hash plate - mounted on a handsome wooden base. What a great display piece! Oh, there's more pictured I have not mentioned; but I'll end this post just by saying, thank-you. While greedy snolly is certainly delighted to receive all of these great fossils (many he did not previously own an example of) that is not the true value of this experience. The value is within the gracious giving. snolly's Santa (a gem of a fellow, who may be found hanging perilously from a rock face) exemplified the spirit of this joyous season - giving. I do feel that all who participated in this forum activity (thank-you Doren) did exactly the same. I hope many have found that the act of giving to others is perhaps the finest gift one can bestow on oneself. 14 Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, also are remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so. - Douglas Adams, Last Chance to See

DeeMoji
I’m so sorry I’ve been away!! I wasn’t trying to seem ungrateful, Christmas is just CRAZY with our family. I don’t spend much time on my phone in December. So I got a super duper awesome gift! Santa was very very generous and sent me a whole size progression of Ecphora quadricostata! We have already got them displayed on our shelf.

Not sure if this is a joke because of how early I posted or not, but its a lot of photos, it's been awhile since I've been on a forum and not sure of any image hosting sites, and I don't have the time over the next few days as I have a busy week full of work and a convention next weekend. If you can recommend any sites, please let me know and I can try to have them up by jan 1st. And to whomever sent it, thank you so much. Adam86cucv
I finally was able to take some pictures of my Secret Santa gift. I received some Middle Cambrian (stage 5 of series 3) fossils from the Spence Shale near Liberty, Idaho. 3405/154: Brachiopod, probably Acrothele 2096/154: Trilobite, Zacanthoides 2150/154: Trilobite, Amecephalus idahoense Trilobite, Ptychoparella The back side looks a bit hash plate like... I'll have to get some better lighting and magnification and see for sure. The triangular fossil is a hyolith with Ptychoparella Trilobite. Unfortunately this one got the brunt of the postal services finest handlers, but we figured out the big pieces. My son and I would like to thank my Secret Santa for the fossils we now have a some friends for our elrathia kingi and rock show special Moroccan trilobite. We also learned what a hyolith was. -Adam
MSirmon
Alright - Here are some better photos of the generous gift from my SS in the Netherlands’s as an added bonus I also received a surprise package from @David in Japan. Thank you David. I will post photos of these items when I have a chance to get some good ones. My grandkids felt the need to touch every one of these beauties and proclaim how awesome they were. By the oohs and awes one would have thought it was a fireworks display. Lol
