Very cool tooth. :envy: Are you going to build a display case for it?

Looks a bit croccy. Are you sure that it isn't Sarcosuchus?

I feel it matches what i have seen however no as i personally have only seen a handful of teeth through pictures, and first time i have actually examined one with my own eyes in person, will take photographs tonight from all angels and post in fossil id, to be on the safe side.

Here’s what arrived in my mailbox today:

A giant scallop, Gigantopecten restituensis, from Lacoste, Vaucluse, France. From the upper Burdigalian of the early Miocene. Not sure if I’m meant to say this, but it was a real steal: only 4,50€! It’s not exactly complete though. But for that size, it’s still a great display piece, and definitely very cheap.

Doggo doesn’t like it that much though...

Nice buy and a very sweet dog too. :dinothumb:

Thanks :)

And he is very sweet, though very naughty at times too, and a very bad fossil hunter too :P

Nice shell.  It looks large.

Showed my neighbors dog a fossil shell on matrix and he smelled it and just wanted the fossil and distinguished between the two.

Wish he could go in the field and sniff out the good ones.  Hum?  Maybe?

Had this gem arrive today. This thing is so freakin' cool! Definitely one of my favorites.

4" Extreme Pathological Megalodon tooth (would have been 5"+ with full root and straightened).

Thanks. And yes, it is large, so it's genus name is well deserved: Gigantopecten (literally "giant scallop") (I updated the name because I just found out the new name; I wrote Chlamys lattissima before)

Huh that's interesting what you said about the dog. Seems like the pooch is smarter than he seems. I heard a story when I was in Lyme Regis of a dog that was playing fetch with his owner on the beach, and instead of bringing back the stick he brought back an ichthyosaur jaw!!! :o What an awesome surprise for the owner, wonder what his face was like :P

@fossilized6s wow! Impressive tooth! I feel sorry for the shark that had it though... Must have had a tough time

all-in.

Juvenile Herbivorou's Dinosaur Footcast  from Wealden , Sussex. U.K.
