But really nice piece! 3 hours ago, Joe_17 said: My first Pterosaur piece , a wing metacarpal of Pteranodon sp. From the Niobrara formation, Smoky Hill Chalk in Gove county Kansas That's awesome! I don't often see American pterosaur material for sale, so am assuming it's pretty rare - even more so than pterosaur material normally already is! 1 1 'There's nothing like millions of years of really frustrating trial and error to give a species moral fibre and, in some cases, backbone' -- Terry Pratchett
pachy-pleuro-whatnot-odon
So, this one came in back halfway through January already. But for a long time I didn't quite know what to make of it. It's a plioplatecarpine mosasaur tooth from the Pierre Shale of Kansas, an unusual provenance for mosasaur teeth, so am quite happy to have been able to add it to my collection, even if rather small! The size, however, was a bit of an issue, as it made it hard to see the details necessary to rule out the tooth belonging to Pachyrhizodus instead. Faceting is/striations are not clearly visible, the tooth is quite symmetrically divided into labial and lingual sides and slight crushing at the tooth's base makes it difficult to offset its shape to that of a Pachyrhizodus-tooth. Moreover, the size of my new acquisition falls squarely within the brackets of Pachyrhizodus-teeth, as does the curvature... In the end, my microscope came to the rescue, allowing me to confidently establish the faceting on only one side of the tooth, thereby conforming it a mosasaurian one. For comparison: Pachyrhizodus sp. from New Jersey (source) 2 'There's nothing like millions of years of really frustrating trial and error to give a species moral fibre and, in some cases, backbone' -- Terry Pratchett

msantix
Small partial Pterosaur jaw belonging to Apatorhamphus from the Kem Kem. It is just 3.3cm in length and due to how slender it is, it most likely is from the lower jaw. Edited March 9, 2022 by msantix

Jaimin013
A few new additions from Kem Kem, Morocco 1) Spinosaurid tooth Length: 49 mm Base: 11mm Side profile width: 7mm Looks like a juvenile tooth but could be wrong as they had teeth of varying sizes. 2) Two Abelisaur teeth Kem Kem 13, Southeastern Morocco (see map which is Iferda N’Ahouar east. Landsat image of southeastern Morocco showing key localities, villages and cities, modified from Ibrahim et al. 2010. Scale bar equals 25 km - https://zookeys.pensoft.net/article/47517/ ) I love the unique light yellow mixed with peach colouration of the enamel. The smaller tooth pretty much all of the serrations still present which is very nice! Measurements: Smaller tooth (left) Crown height: 2.5 mm Base: 1.2 mm Width from side profile 0.6 mm Larger tooth (right) Crown height: 3.6 mm Base: 1.3 mm Width from side profile 0.75 mm Edited March 11, 2022 by Jaimin013
